Calf Starter 18% is the first feed that should be offered to young calves. You can begin feeding young calves at three to four weeks of age and steadily increase the feeding rate as the calves eat more. Calves can be transitioned to a lower protein grower type feed when they are consistently consuming one and a half to two percent of their body weight and their rumen has developed enough to be truly functional.

Feeding Directions:

Feed beginning at 3 weeks of age. Increase feed as calf consumption increases up to 8 pounds per head per day. Always provide free choice forage along with minerals, vitamins, and a clean water source.

Caution:
The safety of Lasalocid in unapproved species has not been established. Do not allow horses or other equines access to feed containing Lasalocid as ingestion may be fatal.
Always provide a source of fresh clean water, and free choice minerals. As you make changes to animal’s diet, allow a 7 to 10-day transition period. Provide ample feeder space for livestock. Do not feed wet, moldy, or insect infested feed.

Warning:
A withdrawal period has not been established for this product in pre-ruminating cattle. Do not use in calves to be processed for veal. Do not feed to sheep due to copper levels in this feed.
