As an aid in the control of active infection of anaplasmosis caused by Anaplasma marginale susceptible to Chlortetracycline.
FORMAX Free Choice Anaplaz Mineral 6000 A is now stocked at AFC Feed in Decatur with no minimum-order quantity. This medicated free-choice mineral contains 6,000 grams per ton of chlortetracycline and provides elevated levels of phosphorus and magnesium.
Veterinary Feed Directive Required
A valid Veterinary Feed Directive from a licensed veterinarian is required before this product can be sold to or used by a customer.
Feeding Directions:
Feed a non-medicated mineral supplement for 14 days prior to feeding FORMAX Free Choice Anaplaz Mineral 6000 A. Then feed this mineral continuously on a free-choice basis.
Pasture and roughage should be adequate to assure consumption of 0.0027 to 0.011 oz per lb of body weight per day. This amount will provide 0.5 to 2.0 mg of chlortetracycline per lb of body weight per day. If cattle consume more or less than these amounts, move the feeder farther from or closer to general resting or watering areas.
If consumption is greater than 0.011 oz per lb of body weight per day after moving the feeder farther from general resting or watering areas, provide salt in a separate feeder to help decrease consumption of Blue Bird Aureo FC.
In free-choice cattle feeds, such as feed blocks or salt-mineral mixes, free-choice feed must be manufactured from NADA 048-761 (Aureomycin) or ANADA 200-510 (Deracin) using an FDA-approved formulation. A feed mill license is not required when following the free-choice loose-mineral formulation published in 21 CFR 558.128.
