For increased rate of weight gain in growing cattle on pasture or in dry lot (stocker and feeder; dairy and beef replacement heifers).
Feeding Directions:
Feed Formax Growth w/Rumensin® at the rate of not less than 50 nor more than 200 mg Monensin per head per day in not less than 1.0 lb. of feed. Feeding 4.44 ounces of this product will provide 200 mg of Monensin per head per day. For the first five days of feeding, cattle should recieve no more than 100 mg Monensin per head per day. Feeding 2.22 ounces of Formax Growth w/Rumensin® contained in not less than 1.0 lb. of feed will provide 100 mg Monensin per head per day.
Caution:
Do not allow horses or other equines access to formulation containing Monensin. Ingestion of Monensin by equines has been fatal. Monensin medicated cattle feed is safe for use in cattle only. Consumption by unapproved species may result in toxic reactions. Do not feed to lactating dairy cows. Do not exceed the levels of Monensin recommended in the feeding directions, as reduced average daily gains may result. Feeding undiluted or mixing errors resulting in high concentrations of Monensin could be fatal to cattle. Must be thoroughly mixed in feeds before use; do not feed undiluted. A withdrawal time has not been established for preruminating calves. Do not use in calves to be processed for veal.
Consumption of Selenium should not exceed 3 mg per head per day. Feeding 4.0 oz. of Formax Growth w/Rumensin® will provide 3mg Selenium per head daily.
Limitations:
Feed only to cattle being fed in confinement for slaughter. Feed continuously in complete feed at a rate of 50 to 360 milligrams of Monensin per head per day; as monensin sodium.
Warning:
Formax Growth w/Rumensin® , which contains added copper, should not be fed to sheep or any species with a low tolerance to supplemental copper.
